COURSE OBJECTIVE:


To enable workers to work confidently and competently develop safe work practices when working at heights. To ensure their understanding of legislative requirements when working in this environment and to understand the uses and limitations of safety equipment.

To enable supervisors to feel confident that all personnel are properly trained to work competently and confidently at heights.


POSITIONS TRAINING DESIGNED FOR:

This course is aimed at all personnel who may be involved in working at heights tasks as part of their scope of work.


COURSE ACCREDITATION:

This course carries national accreditation. Unit of competency numbers are

  • RIIRIS201A       Conduct Local Risk Assessment,
  • MNMG237A        Work Safely at Heights and
  • RIIOHS201A      Work Safely and follow OH&S Policies and Procedures.


EXPECTED OUTCOMES OF TRAINING:

At the completion of the course candidates would have knowledge of;

  • Legislative and other requirements, Identifying hazards 
  • Evaluating risk levels, Determining corrective measures,
  • Putting into place fall prevention and fall arrest equipment
  • Understanding the limitations of fall prevention/arrest devices
  • Understanding of servicing and inspection requirements for these devices
  • Much much more.

Each of these areas can be broken down even further but would relate to much reading.


METHODS OF DELIVERY:

The methods of delivery will include;

  • Face to face tutorials and discussion, Workshops,
  • Audio Visual. Practical situation discussion,
  • Theoretical situation discussion. 


WHAT LEARNING MATERIALS DO PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE:

A complete training manual is given to each participant during this course.


WHAT OPPORTUNITIES DO PARTICIPANTS HAVE FOR PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF NEW SKILLS:

The course is delivered in a classroom type situation. Practical exercises are completed as part of this course.


WHAT FEEDBACK BO PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE:

At the completion of the module discussion of topics and answering of questions is included as part of the course. 


HOW IS TERMINAL BEHAVIOUR MEASURED:
 
Assessment criteria will be by;

  • Workshops amongst the participants.
  • Group discussion, and
  • Other assessment methodology.

All of the above will be as required to determine participants terminal behaviour.

WHAT FOLLOW UP AND ONGOING SUPPORT IS PROVIDED:

All participants and their employers are provided with contacts within Quantum Training so that if a problem arises they can contact us for advice and/or guidance.


DURATION OF TRAINING COURSE:

The course is 8 hours duration.


FEE STRUCTURE:

Course costs are $1950.00 (GST exempt) per day with up to 10 candidates attending the course. Preferred maximum number for the course is 10 to 12 participants. Extra candidates in excess of 10 will be charged at $195.00 per candidate.

Where the course is small or long distances are travelled to deliver only a small number of courses travel, meals & accommodation fees are charged at the current federal tax ruling rate. Where this course is provided in conjunction with other courses only 50% of these charges are applied.
