TRAINING
DESIGNED FOR TYPES OF POSITIONS:
This training program is aimed at all workers from labourers to engineers
who are involved with loadshifting equipment/high risk plant in the workplace.

in Operating Load Shifting Equipment
- 30497 QLD Course
in Operating Cranes Rigging and Scaffolding Equipment
EXPECTED OUTCOMES OF TRAINING:
At the completion of the training course
candidates may have studied any of the following
modules;
- Legislative and other requirements,
- Workplace Health and Safety responsibilities
- Pre-operation checks and Start up procedures
- Operating and Shifting Loads,
- Securing and shutting down machinery, post operation
inspection
- Operating the machinery safely in Crane Mode.
Each of these areas can be broken down even further
but would relate to much reading.
METHODS OF DELIVERY:
The methods of delivery will include;
- Face to face tutorials and discussion,
- Audio visual,
- Theoretical situation discussion.
- Practical hands on with machinery, and
- Practical exercises and Theory Questions to
round off each day.
WHAT LEARNING MATERIALS DO PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE:
All participants receive a full training manual covering the subjects
treated in the training program.
WHAT OPPORTUNITIES DO PARTICIPANTS HAVE FOR
PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF NEW SKILLS:
Mornings are spent in a classroom type situation and in the afternoon
the group goes into the field and puts the theory into practice in their
own workplaces doing set scenarios to evaluate performance.
WHAT FEEDBACK DO PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE:
At the completion of theory modules a questionnaire is completed to ensure
participant understanding of the theory module.
Practical situations are debriefed at the completion of each exercise.
HOW IS TERMINAL BEHAVIOUR MEASURED:
Assessment criteria will be by;
- Written questionnaire (where literacy skills are
a problem this is carried out in a one on one informal
question and answer situation),
- Practical exercises,
- Hands on using machinery other specialist equipment,(Slings
and Chains)
- Group discussion, and
- Other assessment methodology.
All of the above will be as required to determine
participants terminal behaviour..
WHAT FOLLOW UP AND ONGOING
SUPPORT IS PROVIDED:
All participants and their employers are provided with contacts within
Quantum Training so that if a problem arises they can contact us for
advice and/or guidance.
Where a person deems to be not competent either in
practical demonstration of machinery or theory examination
additional training will be offered at a fee for reassessment.
DURATION OF TRAINING COURSE:
The course is 3, 4 or 5 days duration. The 3 day course offers a refresher
on legislation understanding of theory and practical demonstration for
advanced persons. The 4 and 5 day courses are designed for persons who
have limited knowledge on machinery operations and procedures.
For persons who can provide evidence of RPL (Rural & Mining) a challenge
examination can be requested.
FEE STRUCTURE:
Course costs are $1950.00 (GST not applicable) per day of the course.
Preferred maximum number for the course is 12 participants. The above
quoted fee is for a minimum of 10 candidates (Training only).
A standard fee of $430.00 applies for each assessment.
Our standard fee of $150.00 per day for travel and accommodation apply
to all courses. (can be negotiated)
Extra costs billed to the client are for hire of training
venue & machinery for practical assessment and
training.
