2 Traffic Management
COURSE OBJECTIVE:
To enable personnel to understand the requirements to safely
control traffic at roadwork's.
TRAINING DESIGNED FOR TYPES OF POSITIONS:
This course is aimed at all personnel who have duties or obligations
relating the placement, distancing, quality, sizing, etc of
roadwork's signs and traffic control, no matter what the procedure
being performed.
COURSE ACCREDITATION:
This course has been developed to comply with the requirements
of the Roads and Traffic Authority of Queensland.
Quantum Training is an accredited deliverer of this training
through Roads and Traffic Authority of Queensland.
Each successful candidate receives a wallet identification
card as an approved Traffic Controller.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES OF TRAINING:
At the completion of the course candidates would have knowledge
of the requirements of the Roads and Traffic Authority of Queensland
relating to traffic control and will be authorised in writing
to be a Traffic Controller.
There are no course materials for this course, but candidates
must complete a quiz at the completion of the course. Where
a candidate has literary problems the questions are oral.
METHODS OF DELIVERY:
The methods of delivery will include;
- Face to face tutorials and discussion,
- Audio Visual.
- Theoretical situation discussion.
- Practical roadworks signage operations.
WHAT LEARNING MATERIALS DO PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE:
There is no training program given out during this course.
WHAT OPPORTUNITIES DO PARTICIPANTS HAVE FOR PRACTICAL
APPLICATION OF NEW SKILLS:
The course is delivered in a classroom type situation for
the major part. The remaining period is the practical component.
WHAT FEEDBACK DO PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE:
At the completion of theory modules a questionnaire is completed
to ensure participant understanding of the theory module.
Practical situations are debriefed at the completion of each
exercise.
HOW IS TERMINAL BEHAVIOUR MEASURED:
Assessment criteria will be by;
- Written questionnaire (where literacy skills are a problem
this is carried out in a one on one informal question and
answer situation),
- Practical exercises,
- Workshops amongst the participants.
- Group discussion, and
- Other assessment methodology.
All of the above will be as required to determine participants
terminal behaviour.
WHAT FOLLOW UP AND ONGOING SUPPORT IS PROVIDED:
All participants and their employers are provided with contacts
within Quantum Training so that if a problem arises they can
contact us for advice and/or guidance.
DURATION OF TRAINING COURSE:
The course is of nominally 4 hours.
For candidates currently holding a Traffic Controllers Qualification we can
now deliver a 90 minute retraining program for recertification.
FEE STRUCTURE:
Course costs are $2800.00 (GST not applicable) per training
day of up to 10 candidates an extra fee of $280.00 per candidate
in excess of 10. QLD
pricing only.
Our standard fee of $150.00 per day for travel and accommodation
apply to all courses. This fee is reduced to $100.00 where
the client supplies power and water to connect to.
