Handling
COURSE OBJECTIVE:
To enable workers to work confidently and competently when
using manual handling techniques in the workplace.
To enable managers and supervisors to feel confident in the
level of knowledge of their personnel where manual handling
is concerned.
TRAINING DESIGNED FOR TYPES OF POSITIONS:
This training program is aimed at all workers al all levels
in the workplace to be able to perform manual handling functions
safely in the workplace.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES OF TRAINING:
At the completion of the retraining course candidates may
have studied any of the following modules;
- Legislative and other requirements,
- Understanding of manual handling requirements,
- Specialist equipment that may be available to assist with
manual handling,
- Roles personnel play in relation to manual handling,
- Understanding of the mechanics of the body when manual
handling,
- Other areas as applicable.
Each of these areas can be broken down even further but would
relate to much reading.
METHODS OF DELIVERY:
The methods of delivery will include;
- Face to face tutorials and discussion,
- Audio visual,
- Theoretical situation discussion.
- Practical hands on in some situations, and
- Practical exercises to round off the day (Full Day Course
Only).
WHAT LEARNING MATERIALS DO PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE:
All participants receive a training manual covering the subjects
treated in the training program.
WHAT OPPORTUNITIES DO PARTICIPANTS HAVE FOR PRACTICAL APPLICATION
OF NEW SKILLS:
As this is a 4 hour program there is no practical component.
Where an employer wishes to include a practical component the
course can be extended up to 8 hours depending on client requirements.
WHAT FEEDBACK DO PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE:
At the completion of the theory module a questionnaire is
completed to ensure participant understanding of the theory
module.
Practical situations (where delivered) are debriefed at the
completion of each exercise.
HOW IS TERMINAL BEHAVIOUR MEASURED:
Assessment criteria will be by;
- Written questionnaire (where literacy skills are a problem
this is carried out in a one on one informal question and
answer situation),
- Practical exercises (longer course only),
- Group discussion, and
- Other assessment methodology.
All of the above will be as required to determine participants
terminal behaviour.
WHAT FOLLOW UP AND ONGOING SUPPORT IS PROVIDED:
All participants and their employers are provided with contacts
within Quantum Training so that if a problem arises they can
contact us for advice and/or guidance.
DURATION OF TRAINING COURSE:
The course is 4 hours duration. The course can be extended
at the clients discretion.
FEE STRUCTURE:
Course costs are $950.00 (GST not applicable) per course.
Preferred maximum number for the course is 12 participants.
The above quoted fee is for a minimum of 10 candidates.
Our standard fee of $150.00 per day for travel and accommodation
apply to all courses. This fee is reduced to $100.00 where
the client supplies power and water to connect to.
Extra costs billed to the client are for air cylinder refills and fire extinguisher
recharging.
Quantum Training’s
course enrolment policy applies to all courses.
